The trade talk between Canada, U.S. and Mexico on the revised North American Free Trade Agreement is expected to be concluded in the coming days.

If no deal is reached in the coming days, it is possible that the talk will be put on hold until end of the year or early 2019. It is due to the Mexican's presidential election in July and the U.S. congressional midterm vote in November. The Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Freeland also mentioned that there are still have some issues that they need to be resolved and a win-win-win agreement is possible. The Canadian small business essentiment index dropped more than 4.1 points to reach 56.6 in April which wasthe lowest since 2016. The major declines in confidence are in rising fuel and wage costs.
